Travelography: Hindustan ka dil dekho- Maheshwar

After a romantic rendezvous with Mandu it was time to head to Maheshwar. A historic temple town situated on the banks of Narmada. What people know of Maheshwar is that it is home to the exquisitely woven Maheshwari Sarees. Maheshwari sarees were specially designed for the purpose of gifting royal guests. Owning one must surely make you feel like royalty now!
Not being much of a Maheshwari saree fan gave me enough time to explore and appreciate the temple complex around with it's overhanging balconies and intricate designs on the walls. The designs on these walls are in fact the inspiration for the motifs on the Maheshwari sarees, and i must say no matter how perfect they might look on those sarees nothing beats the real thing!
Places like these just make you want to live in that era...so what if you didn't have phones...internet or electricity! Eh...ok let's not get carried away!

Travelography: Hindustan ka dil dekho- MANDU

Have to admit monsoons and romance make for a killer combo! Guess that's what made Mandu so magical...monsoon...palace ruins and the romantic tales of the fortified city. There are moments in your life when you wish you could stop time and live that moment forever. You can never spend enough time in Mandu...it will always keep you asking for more.

Once upon a time lasts forever...and nothing says it better than the ruins of Mandu.
